Ticks
Q: I recently moved to a heavy tick infested area.i have been using frontline plus once a month, as well as combing out my lab/spaniel several times a day and checking for ticks. still, when she wakes up in the morning sometimes i find a dead, engorged tick on her bed. a month ago she was diagnosed with lyme disease (and treated). is biospot better, as the chart claims it also repels ticks? also, is the ingredients, permethrin and pyripoxyfen, dangerous to my child, as she hugs and plays with the dog?
A: I do feel that we all get some level of insecticide exposure to all of these products when used. i think any long term issues have not been studied with these products but on short term at least are relatively safe. i would consider preventic collar which i think is best tick product on market and kills on contact

Q: I have used frontline plus with good results. no ticks last year at all. mosquitoes are a concern as well. frontline states it's waterproof, but k9 does not. so i'm asking is k9 waterproof?
